Since joining the company in 2007, Micaela Jungmalm has expanded her career from working as a receptionist into her current role as Wellspect's Global Congress & Event Manager.
“I've always asked for new challenges and new opportunities, says Micaela. “But sometimes you have to create those opportunities, push for it, demonstrate that you can do it, and thankfully, this organization has individuals and initiatives who can assist your journey.”
Pre-pandemic, Wellspect had hosted huge physical events, but also held digital presentations for regional teams across the globe. Micalea recalls: “Although the hospitality industry took a big hit when lock-down started, we were determined to continue to deliver our events. Our experience from gathering of data and doing surveys over the years helped us to align with GDPR, but we had to learn about new techniques available for digital events on this scale. Now, after several virtual events, we’ve established a good routine. The team, headed by a professional meeting producer, always pulls it together, every time!”
