Bladder and bowel dysfunction affects approximately 80% of individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI), yet studies show that these remain significantly unmet clinical needs. For many individuals with SCI, regaining control over bladder and bowel function is consistently rated as a top priority—often even more so than regaining mobility. Despite this, progress in addressing these needs lags behind.
